With over 5000 archaeological sites and 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and 84 of the planet’s 117 life zones as one of the world's ten most biologically diverse countries, Peru is a wonderland of history, culture and nature. This tour takes you on a journey from the bustling city of Lima, named World's Leading Culinary Destination in 2022, to the arid coast where we'll go beyond the touristic path to encounter Afro-Peruvian culture and history, the desert oasis towns of Paracas, Huacachina, and the vineyards and sand desert of Ica before experiencing the mysterious Nazca geoglyph lines.
In Lima, we'll explore the historic colonial center, visit museums and galleries, and enjoy the vibrant cultural scene. You'll also have the opportunity to sample some of the world's most renowned cuisine, with the city boasting an impressive array of restaurants, street vendors, and markets. We will venture to the historic coastal port to escape the bustling city into nature at the sea.
Barranco is a vibrant and artistic district in Lima, Peru known for its colonial architecture, beautiful beaches, and bohemian vibe. It's home to many art galleries, museums, and cultural centers that showcase the works of local artists and musicians. The famous "Puente de los Suspiros" (Bridge of Sighs) is a popular attraction and a romantic spot for couples. Barranco is also known for its nightlife, with many bars, restaurants, and clubs featuring live music and performances. It's a must-visit destination for anyone interested in experiencing the creative and cultural side of Lima.
As we travel south along the coast, we'll discover a side of Paracas less traveled by tourists and stop in Chincha to learn about Afro-Peruvian heritage and culture of the past and present.
In the wine region of Ica, we'll visit a vineyard and winery, learn about the local grape varieties, and sample some of the region's finest wines and Peru’s national drink, Pisco! We'll visit the picturesque oasis town of Huacachina, surrounded by towering sand dunes. Here, we’ll have a play day sandboarding, take a desert tour on a dune buggy with a desert barbecue and overnight camping!
We’ll take a magnificent excursion into an open rift canyon in the middle of the desert where we’ll have leisure time to explore.
In much anticipation, we'll arrive in Nazca to have an in-depth discovery of the mysterious Nazca Lines, ancient geoglyphs etched into the desert floor over 2000 years ago. Here, you can take a scenic flight over the lines for a once-in-a-lifetime perspective of these enigmatic figures.

Nazca Lines Fly Over ($130 USD per person; Aerial)
Appreciate the scale and grandeur of the Nazca Lines with a bird’s-eye view with a fly over! Located in the Peruvian desert, the lines of Nazca are a series of large designs etched into the earth that date back over 2,000 years. Although their purpose is still unknown, they have become a popular tourist destination due to their mysterious beauty.
You will be able to see full-scale, intricate details that are not visible from the ground of figures of animals, nature and humanity or a celestial being? The flight is about one (1) hour and takes you over the most famous lines.
One of the benefits of taking an aerial tour is that you can avoid the hot and sandy conditions of the desert and get a comprehensive view of the lines in a short amount of time. The planes used for these tours are small and intimate, making it a more personal experience for travelers who want to escape the crowds.

Bernell and I met happenstance while we were both visiting Colombia in 2019 and happened to share a ride to a remote beach in the jungle of Santa Marta. We were traveling like locals with locals on a new, daring adventure. When you jump of rocks into the ocean together, instantly a friendship begins! In 2022, I welcomed Bernell to my country, hometown of Lima, and my home for a homestay. Our Peru travel adventures began from the grind of daily life in a big city of Lima, escapes to small towns (Pueblitos), a coastal road trip with my friends, and finally to Cusco. I enjoy traveling, leisure walks, expanding my mind looking for new life perspectives, and engaging in meaningful conversations with others about life, the world and everything in between. Naturally, I linked with philosophy of Bernell and her vision of travel as a local with local people. Welcome to my city! Let's share time, conversation, some beers and Pisco Sour, and some of my favorite local places.
