Falls Park is the historic "cradle of Greenville" of the Cherokee Indian Nation, first European settlers and mills. It features the Liberty Bridge, a 345-foot suspension bridge over Reedy River and has ben named a "Top U.S. Park" by TripAdvisor several times. We’ll take a 40-minute drive to southern Greenville County to Cedar Falls Park where the Reedy River widens to over 200 feet cascading over rocks and boulders, one of the most geographically significant vistas of the river. We will enjoy lazy days by the river, leisure strolls, trails, free time and lunch on your own in picnic groves of Cedar Falls Park. The park is a historic site where we can learn about the Cherokee Indian Nation, The Falls and Fork Shoals, South Carolina.

In just a one-hour drive outside of Downtown Greenville, we will reach the expansive, pristine Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area of more than 11,000 acres featuring waterfalls, lakes, hiking trails and nature viewing. We will hike easy to moderate out-and-back trails to Twin Falls and Raven Cliff Falls. Table Rock Tea Company (Thursday-Sunday only), an artisan tea farm grown in Upstate, South Carolina, invites us to an educational tour. We’ll ascend the winding mountain stopping along the way at expansive, scenic viewpoints at Bald Rock Heritage Reserve and Caesar’s Head State Park.

Enter historical Cherokee Native American Indian Nation grounds and highlands of waterfalls flowing from North Carolina and into lakes and reservoirs. A one hour fifteen-minute drive from downtown Greenville, South Carolina we will visit Stumphouse Tunnel, 1850s construction project brought to a halt by the Civil War. We’ll admire and some of us may even choose to take a dip in legendary Issaqueena Falls and cascading Yellow Branch Falls. We will end our adventure with views of Jocassee Gorges, Lake Jocassee and a moderate hike to a striking view of Lower Whitewater Falls, one waterfall in a series of the highest falls in eastern North America.
